Four new members were elected to the Washtenaw Literacy Board of Directors at the June Board meeting:

Tim McIntyre is the Vice President of Communications for Domino’s Pizza, responsible for Domino’s internal communications, public and media relations, event management, crisis communications, community involvement and charitable giving. He is an active supporter of several charitable organizations.

Donna DeButts is currently the Community Relations Coordinator for the Ypsilanti District Library and has been in that position since 1996, after serving as Washtenaw Literacy’s Executive Director from 1986 - 1995. She is a co-author of LITSTART, the tutor handbook in use by WL tutors and is a certified trainer for both trainers and tutors.

James D. Horton, Jr. is recently retired from the Delonis Shelter for homeless people in Ann Arbor where he enjoyed a satisfying career as a Social Worker and certified substance abuse counselor. James began training for his career after seeking services from Washtenaw Literacy to learn to read as an adult. As he progressed, he attended and graduated from Washtenaw Community College, and then Eastern Michigan University. James is a past Board Member of Washtenaw Literacy (1993-95) and recently served WL by speaking at the 2010 Support Literacy Now luncheon.

Jeff Wilensky is Vice President of Publishing at ProQuest. He is responsible for global product management for ProQuest's Business, General Reference, Social Science, Arts & Humanities, and Historical Collections product lines. Jeff has also served as Director of Global Customer Support and Director of Marketing and Global Pricing at ProQuest.
