Chief Jesters Jan Barney Newman, and Lorri Hopping of Hopping Fun Creations, are concocting three customized games to entertain the Royal guests!  Those who choose to play along can sleuth out celebrity stories among the crowd, double their raffle dollars, or challenge one of our beloved mayors to a role as a courtly Shakespearean fool, a witty, even philosophical, character.

Which noble guest spoke to Elvis when she was five years old? Who nearly trod on Woody Allen while he was directing a movie? Secretly write your personal brush with fame, fortune, or royalty on a card. Then, take another card and mingle about the room to find the person who wrote it—and hear the rest of the story.

Royal Families

Collect a Jack, Queen, King playing card of the same suit, and you will double your raffle dollars! The more often you bid, the greater your chances of snagging these coveted cards. 

Who’s the Wiser Fool?

It’s mayor versus mayor in a contest to win the opportunity to “play the fool.”  One of our Royal Co-Hosts, either Christopher Taylor, Mayor of Ann Arbor or Amanda Edmonds, Mayor of Ypsilanti, will engage in good-natured foolery. You, our guests, will choose the winner!  Auction bidders vote for one or the other, with the results revealed at a rousingly silly close to the evening.
