Welcome! Washtenaw Literacy's mission is to provide free literacy instruction customized to the needs of adults throughout Washtenaw County, utilizing a trained network of volunteer tutors. It is our vision to eliminate illiteracy in Washtenaw County. For over 40 years we have been empowering adults through improved literacy. Since our founding in 1971, we have served over 20,000 learners and trained and fully supported over 10,000 volunteer tutors. Learn more.

- Learners - Winter 2015 Learning Labs still have space: Learning Labs are small tutoring groups about a specific topic. Learning Labs have both a start and end date, REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED and attendance is expected at all sessions. - Power Tutoring 2015 is here! On February 21st, 2015 we're hosting our premiere daylong professional development for adult literacy tutors. We're offering a series of free literacy workshops presenting powerful strategies and hands-on learning to help tutors and adult learners work together more effectively.
