The Community Opportunity Center is located inside the Activity Center at Grace Fellowship Church (1301 S. Harris, Ypsilanti).  It supports lifelong learning through quality education programs.


  • Intermediate School District offers early childhood education and parent support. 
  • The Family Learning Institute delivers academic tutoring for school-aged kids. 
  • Washtenaw Literacy offers adults academic, literacy and workforce programs.


Washtenaw Literacy’s Computer Lab at the Community Opportunity Center offers a variety of options to improve reading,  writing, math and  computer skills.  Individual and small group tutoring, and classes for success at home and on the job will help adults 16 and older realize dreams.

Free programs provided year-round include:

  • Reading comprehension
  • Resume writing
  • Everyday math
  • GED and test preparation
  • Basic computer literacy
  • English as a second language
  • Job interviewing
  • Career pathways and exploration
  • Financial literacy
