Volunteer Orientations
Ready to make a difference as a Washtenaw Literacy volunteer? Attending a one-hour volunteer orientation is the best place to start.
You will learn about volunteer opportunities at Washtenaw Literacy as well as our volunteer tutor trainings.

One-on-One Tutor Trainings
Ready to tutor one-on-one? Our hands-on tutor training will give you the tools you need to get started. Each training series includes 15 hours of instruction.
New tutors are also encouraged to attend Exploring Tutoring Techniques, an optional 3-hour planning and practice session with a peer mentor.
To register, complete the registration form handed out at your Volunteer Orientation or call 734-879-1320. A $25 materials fee is requested.
(If you do not plan to volunteer with Washtenaw Literacy, you may register for a fee as space allows.)

ESL Group Tutor Training
This training for new and continuing English as a second language group tutors offers new techniques and a discussion of lesson planning and group management.
