Washtenaw Literacy provides continuing education workshops for all tutors.  This allows tutors opportunities to learn new skills and information to share with learners.  Workshop topics are collected by staff and mentors from tutors.  If you have a workshop topic you would like to see, contact the staff at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Available Workshops

• Power Tutoring - Power Tutoring is an annual workshop day, every February/March.  This event welcomes literacy volunteers from all over the state of Michigan.  Attendees can pre-register to attend three separate workshops on specific topics. 
  
  
• Tutor Tune-up - Tutor Tune-up is an annual workshop morning, every August/September. Attendees participate in workshops focused on one tutoring theme.
  
  
• ESL Group Lesson Planning Workshops - These workshops are held quarterly, two weeks after an ESL group tutor training.  Each workshop has a theme, for example, receptive language lesson planning.
  
  
• Other Workshops - Other workshops are offered throughout the year.  Topics vary according to tutor requests.
