Appreciation Day

Appreciation Day is an annual event held in July at the Washtenaw Intermediate School District. Washtenaw Literacy tutors, learners and their families are invited to share a potluck dinner. Several learners receive awards recognizing their accomplishments. Appreciation Day volunteers are needed during the event to keep the buffet tables orderly. Additional volunteers help with decoration making prior to the event.

Power Tutoring

On a Saturday in late February or early March, volunteer tutors and learners defy the cold weather attend workshops on various educational topics. Volunteers help with set-up, registration, copy making, food distribution and clean-up. Volunteers can also teach a workshop in their area of expertise.
