Washtenaw Literacy can help you with speaking, reading or writing in English. Our one-on-one tutoring program will help you meet your goals. You will meet for two hours each week with a volunteer tutor. Tutoring is free.

Do you qualify for tutoring?

Use this checklist to see if you qualify for tutoring:

• I am 16 years or older
• I live, work, or volunteer in Washtenaw County
• I need help with speaking, reading or writing in English
  
• I can commit to weekly tutoring for one year

If you checked all the boxes, you are eligible for a tutor.

ATTENTION:  The registration for a one-to-one tutoring assessment is currently closed.  We will open assessment registration again in June.  Please email or contact Washtenaw Literacy from June to August if you are interested in registering for one-to-one tutoring.    

How do I get a tutor?

To get a tutor, follow these steps:

2. Meet with a Washtenaw Literacy staff member to register for a tutor
3. Respond to your volunteer tutor's phone call to set up tutoring sessions
