Welcome! Our Mission Statement: Believing that literacy is the foundation for a sustainable community, Washtenaw Literacy provides literacy support, free of charge, to adults through a network of trained tutors. It is our vision to eliminate illiteracy in Washtenaw County. For over 40 years we have been empowering adults through improved literacy. Since our founding in 1971, we have served over 20,000 learners and trained and fully supported over 10,000 volunteer tutors. Learn more.

- It's Time: Tutor & Learner Semester Updates are Due Soon!
- We are asking ALL tutors and learners to complete semester updates for the fall semester (September 1st - December 31st). Please complete all semester updates by January 15th, 2017. Click below to access tutor and learner semester updates.
- Power Tutoring is coming soon! Our annual series of workshops will be held at WCC on Click here for more information. Pre-registration is now closed for Power Tutoring 2017, but you can still attend! Simply come to WCC a few minutes early on Saturday and we'll help you register on site. We hope to see you at Power Tutoring. . There will be something for everyone, including optional informal lunch discussions.
