About Us
The Need For Literacy

2008 Dynamic Edge Holiday Beard Challenge
Tis the season to be hairy! Our friends at Dynamic Edge have challenged themselves to grow beards from Thanksgiving until Christmas in a spirited effort to support literacy in Washtenaw County. Help us raise funds for Washtenaw Literacy, by "voting" for your favorite beard at www.dynedge.com/beard-off-2008.html

Nicola's Books Reader Rewards Program
Nicola's Books has begun a new fundraising program to support Washtenaw Literacy. For every $150 you spend, Nicola's will award you a $6 gift card. You have the option to use the card or donate it to support Washtenaw Literacy, with a matching gift from Nicola's Books!

Todd's Service Giving Back to the Community
If you're planning a landscaping project with Todd's services, be sure to mention Washtenaw Literacy's name. Todd's Services will donate a percentage of your fee to our tutoring programs.

When you make a donation to Washtenaw Literacy, you're making a difference on the individual and community-wide level. Our programs are supported in large part by local businesses, individuals and families. You can show your support in several ways:

  • Make a donation online. Click here to make a secure donation online using your credit card >> (You will be redirected to Network for Good's homepage.)

  • Mail us your gift. Send a check or money order to: Washtenaw Literacy; 5577 Whittaker Road; Ypsilanti, MI 48197

  • Help build our endowment. A gift to our endowment lasts a lifetime. Once the principal reaches $100,000, we will use the interest to help fund our programs. The Washtenaw Literacy Endowment Fund is managed by the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation. Cash gifts, as well as stock and other assets may be donated. An exciting aspect of contributing to our endowment is a significant state tax credit.
